Responsibilities:
Locala Community Stroke Service provides comprehensive care for adults in community settings after having a stroke. A temporary opportunity has arisen for a Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team to cover maternity leave.
The service is based at Mill Hill Community Health Centre in Huddersfield.
The service provides high quality care to patients in their own homes, community rehabilitation facilities and care homes. The Team consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Nurses, Assistant Practitioners and Rehabilitation Assistants.
The opportunity will provide excellent work experience and achievement of specialist skills and competencies for anyone wishing to develop a career in rehabilitation.
This role requires a motivated and dynamic person to work within this established service and it is essential that you have experience in working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience of treating patients with complex disability / neurological conditions and working in a rehabilitation setting are desirable requirements of this post. Good communication skills and flexibility are essential qualities. Experience of working as a Rehabilitation Assistant is desirable but willingness to work towards this is essential.
