Experienced Terracotta Tiler Required – Immediate Start (Next Week)
Overview
Hilites Group is looking for an experienced wall and floor tiler with a proven track record of installing handmade square-cut terracotta tiles. We have an immediate start available next week on a high-end residential project in London.
This is not a standard porcelain or ceramic tiling job. We require a tradesperson who understands the unique characteristics of handmade terracotta, including setting out, working with natural size variations, maintaining consistent joints, and delivering a high-quality finish.

Responsibilities
- Install handmade square-cut terracotta floor tiles to a high standard.
- Prepare and level subfloors to ensure a suitable substrate.
- Set out tile layouts accurately, taking into account natural tile variation.
- Cut tiles neatly around walls, doorways and fixtures using appropriate tools.
- Lay tiles with consistent spacing and alignment while maintaining the desired aesthetic.
- Mix and apply suitable adhesives and grouts in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Clean and protect finished work throughout the installation.
- Work alongside other trades to ensure the programme remains on schedule.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and comply with all health and safety requirements.
Essential Experience
- Demonstrable experience laying handmade terracotta floor tiles (essential).
- Experience with natural stone or handmade clay tile installations.
- Excellent setting-out skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and produce a premium finish.
- Own professional tiling tools and transport preferred.
- CSCS card desirable but not essential.
