Hours: 22.5 hours per week during term time (36 weeks per year)
Salary: £13,747 to £14,086 per annum. Plus generous benefits, including a Generous Occupational Pension Scheme
About the role
Our Learning Support Practitioners provide educational support and care to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities across College.
You will provide support, either one-to-one or for small groups of students, in class and across unstructured time to:

enable full understanding of the curriculum and overcome barriers to learning

assist teaching staff by supporting students and guiding their learning
-
help with mobility and personal care needs in College and on off-site visits
In addition to in-class support there may be opportunities or requirements to provide out of class support to students over lunch and break times and support with transport at the end of the college day. There is also a requirement to proactively liaise with tutors to provide a positive learning experience for learners..
About the person
Applicants should be educated to Level 3 or above and should have skills in a number of the following areas:

support for people on the autistic spectrum

support for students with emotional and/or behavioural issues
-
support for people with severe learning difficulties/disabilities
-
support for people with medical conditions
-
knowledge and understanding of ICT and assistive technology
-
support for students with visual impairment
-
support for students with hearing impairment
-
mobility and personal care
