About the Charity: Action Breaks Silence is an education charity established to create a world free from violence against women and girls.
Job description: Action Breaks Silence is looking for organised, hard-working, adaptable and confident people who have a passion for ending Violence against Women and Girls to join our team. Your main responsibility will be delivering our Empowerment through Self-Defence and Undefining Masculinity workshops. The Empowerment through Self-Defence Workshop offers both physical self-defence as an empowerment tool and practical advice on recognising types of abuse and strategies to disrupt it. Please note that due to the nature of this workshop, prior martial arts experience would be an added advantage. The Undefining Masculinity Workshop, which is open to all students, addresses self-care, the challenges faced by youth in their relationships, and advice on becoming an active bystander. Job commitments: Reliably commute to workshop locations across London and Greater London - Freelance availability to work flexi-hours on an ad-hoc basis. Qualities and skills that we value in an Action Breaks Silence trainer: • A passion for ending Violence against Women and Girls • Supportive team player • Punctual and reliable • Confident, with good presentation skills • Available during the daytime Monday to Friday, and occasionally evenings or weekends • English speaking and reading fluency • Previous experience in teaching, training or performance arts is preferred but not a necessity • For the self-defence workshop o Good levels of physical fitness o Previous experience in Martial Arts is an added advantage
Remuneration: • We provide complete training for workshop delivery o You will be paid £13.85 p/h for all training • You will be paid £25 p/h for the workshop delivery • Travel is reimbursed on submission of the travel receipt • DBS/ Police check will be carried out for all successful applicants Please send your CV and cover letter to [email protected]
