Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Trainee or Qualified Orthodontic Nurse to join our dynamic dental team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within orthodontics, providing high-quality patient care in a supportive environment. Prior experience in nursing or dental care is advantageous, but full training will be provided for those starting their career in orthodontic nursing. Duties
- Assist the orthodontic therapist during patient consultations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Provide pre- and post-treatment advice to patients, including oral hygiene instructions
- Support with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate patient records using IT systems
- Monitor patient progress and update records accordingly
- Ensure the clinical environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with infection control protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and external healthcare providers to facilitate seamless care delivery
- Maintain stock levels of clinical supplies and organise stock replenishment as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient care, nursing, or dental assistance is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good IT literacy to handle electronic health records and appointment scheduling systems
- Compassionate approach with a focus on delivering high standards of patient care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy clinical environment
- A recognised qualification in nursing or dental assisting is advantageous for qualified applicants
