Level 2 Teaching Assistant – 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract

Hours: 27.5 hours per week, term time only + 3 professional development days
Contract: 2-year fixed term, subject to funding
Salary: Grade 5 – £13.47–£13.69 per hour, pending pay award
Actual Annual Salary: £16,374.36–£16,635.04
We are looking for two enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join a successful and growing secondary school in the Shrewsbury area.
The successful candidates will work as part of a supportive Personalised Learning Department, providing classroom and learning support to students. The roles may involve general support across the school or working closely with a specific student to help them access learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with their learning and development both in and outside the classroom.
- Work alongside teachers to provide effective classroom support.
- Provide individual or small-group support where required.
- Support students with additional learning needs and encourage their independence.
- Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and support students' wellbeing.
About You
We are looking for candidates who are:

- Able to build positive relationships with students.
- Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Confident supporting students with a range of learning needs.
- Ideally experienced in a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support or similar role.
A relevant Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience would be desirable.
