Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Sales Representative for Wholesale & Catering Butchers to join our team in Southampton. This role is vital in expanding our wholesale reach and strengthening relationships with our catering clients, embodying our company's mission to deliver top-quality products and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and secure new wholesale/Catering customers including restaurants, pubs, hotels, caterers, schools, care homes, retailers, and other foodservice businesses.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales growth targets.
- Conduct regular prospecting activities including telephone outreach, networking, and face-to-face meetings.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
Account Management
- Manage and develop existing customer accounts.
- Maintain regular contact with customers to understand their needs and identify opportunities for growth.
- Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Product Knowledge and Sales
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's product range, specifications, pricing, and promotions.
- Advise customers on product selection and market trends.
- Prepare quotations and negotiate pricing within agreed company guidelines.
- Promote seasonal products and value-added offerings.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments.
- Provide feedback to management on customer requirements, pricing trends, and opportunities within the market.
Administration and Reporting
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity reports.
- Submit regular sales forecasts and performance updates.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and food industry standards.
Package and Benefits
- Basic salary of £35,000- £40'000 per annum. (depending on the candidate)
- Uncapped commission structure based on sales performance. (KPI based) After probation

Performance Measures
Success in this role will be measured through:

Working Hours
Full-time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, with flexibility required to meet customer and business needs.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience in B2B sales or food retail sales.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Valid driving license and ability to travel within the region.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in English; IT skills are advantageous.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for quality products.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
