Job Title: Warehouse Operative
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme (near Stoke-on-Trent)
Pay Rates:
Day shift hours: £13.87 per hour (overtime up to £20.81 per hour)
Weekly pay
Shift Pattern:
Rotation shift pattern. Flexibility is required, as you must to work across morning and afternoon shift
Days: Morning: 06:00 – 14:45 & Afternoon: 15:00 – 23:45
About the Role:
You will be working on behalf of Major Recruitment for our client based in Newcastle-under-Lyme. This is a great opportunity to join a well-known high street home and fashion retailer.

You will be handling a variety of products including clothing, homeware, and furniture, preparing them for distribution across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Tagging, labelling, and ticketing clothing
- Processing stock for goods in and goods out
- Picking and packing orders accurately
- Moving stock within the warehouse
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Handling materials safely and efficiently
Please note: this role involves manual handling, including heavy lifting and a lot of walking.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous warehouse, picking, or packing experience is preferred but not essential
- Ability to carry out manual handling tasks throughout the shift, including lifting and moving stock
- Basic computer literacy and confidence using warehouse systems, scanners, and handheld devices
- Comfortable standing, walking, and being on your feet for long periods of time
- Good attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible approach to work and shift patterns
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures within a warehouse environment
Important Requirements:
This role involves manual handling, including heavy lifting, frequent bending, and moving stock. Candidates must be comfortable with long periods of standing and walking throughout the shift and have basic computer skills to use warehouse systems and scanning equipment.
