Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator/Welder to join our growing manufacturing team here at Bluestar. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture of specialist material handling equipment, ensuring that all work meets standards set out in our ISO9001 quality plan.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong steel fabrication background, with experience in jig & batch welding and fabrication processes. The position is full-time and ideal for those looking to showcase their skills within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and understanding of CAD drawings to accurately execute fabrication tasks.
- Create jigs, tack & weld batch manufacturing requirements to a high standard
- Measure, mark out, and cut materials with precision to ensure proper fit and finish.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble steel products.
- Assemble fabricated parts using appropriate welding methods, ensuring structural integrity.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.
- Proven experience in MIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of Industry standard welding standards and practices.
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, sheet metal work, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience in working with sheet metal or similar materials is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce precise work within tight tolerances.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding or fabrication are advantageous but not essential.
