About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead and support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety standards across the business.
You will provide expert advice to colleagues, managers, drivers and operational teams, helping to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation. Working collaboratively across the business, you will promote a positive safety culture and support the delivery of safe, reliable services for our clients, employees and drivers.

£45,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Location
Primary Location - Paddington, London with hybrid working (4 days office based - 1 day WFH)
Regular travel - Across our group locations: West Drayton office, William Road, Peterborough, Liverpool, Birkenhead, Chester and the Northwest of England.
Main Accountabilities
- Maintain and develop ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems
- Establish a collaborative, pragmatic HSQE function which keeps our staff safe.
- Manage and ensure that the provision of competent health, safety, quality (assurance).
- Ensure environmental site advice is sufficient and effective on all projects.
- Ensure effective assurance is in place, including inspections and leadership engagements.
- Promote safe behaviours, equipment, standards, and method of working across the business
- Create and develop company-controlled documents policies and procedures.
- Maintain all H&S forms, risk assessments, method statements and toolbox talks.
- Perform site safety inspections reports and audits.
- Attend internal management and departmental meetings, forums and seminars for health and safety.
- Collate toolboxes talk and site inspection information from all departments, analysing and producing progress reports.
- Keep up to date with any changes to Health and Safety, Environmental legislation (British Standards and training requirements/standards).
- Chair monthly Health & Safety meetings, making strategic recommendations to improve HSQE.
- Oversee the credentials of subcontractors and engineers to the quality standards required.
- Monitor and evaluate performance against standards or agreed targets.
- Use audits, feedback loops and corrective action to ensure continuous improvement.
- Prioritise and escalate issues resulting in non-compliance.
- Work with key stakeholders to maintain Quality and Environmental compliance.
- Report on the findings of monitoring and evaluation processes and make recommendations.
Requirements
- Degree in Safety and Health or related field (desirable)
- NEBOSH certification
- Experience formulating and implementing risk management strategies and operating practices.
- Proven track record of implementing organisational and local management systems for multi-sites
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrable knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001
- Self-starter, able to display initiative and pro-active approach to problem solving.
