Apley Grange, set within secluded gardens and grounds in a quiet residential area close to The Stray, provides support, care and nursing according to individual needs.
We are looking for 1 or 2 Kitchen Assistants to work on a bank (staff relief) basis with the possibility to offer permanent hours as/when they become available.
Our Kitchen Assistants help serve the meals and support all residents with consideration, kindness and good communication so they can make informed choices at meal times.
Successful candidates will contribute to the smooth running of the catering department by carrying out various tasks while following strict hygiene and health and safety rules, on an "as needed" basis.
Experience and Food Safety Certificate (level 2) preferable, but full training will be given.

Main Duties
Assist the cook in the preparation of veg, snacks, and drinks
Take any meals and refreshments to where they are required
Keep kitchens clean, tidy and stocked up
Wash up and reset tables
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all food prep areas in accordance with food safety regulations
Attend all mandatory training required by the post, refreshed annually
Complete any records as appropriate
Carry out any other tasks as requested
Requirements
To be able to follow instruction and supervision from the Cook
To be able to work with colleagues to provide a person-centred service
Excellent interpersonal skills
