Job Summary
At Port Na Craig, we pride ourselves on service standards. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our team in providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. You will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and assisting with various tasks within the restaurant environment. Throughout the high-season, we operate a busy indoor restaurant along with a large outdoor beer garden, your role with alternate between the two areas depending on both your experience and confidence and the business‘ demands. You will be expected to learn our food & drinks menus and be able to confidently discuss these with our diners.
Responsibilities
- Take accurate food and drink orders using the restaurant's ordering system.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely manner while ensuring presentation meets our standards.
- Assist with food preparation as needed, adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and utensils.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and address any guest concerns promptly.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism, striving for complete satisfaction.
- Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently during busy periods.
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Excellent hospitality skills with a focus on guest services.
- Basic maths skills for handling bills and processing payments accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during peak hours.
- Previous experience in a restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help colleagues as needed.
- People skills is essential in this role - having the ability to spark conversation, chat about the local area, the menu, the wine list and who we are is a plus.
