Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mentor / SEND Learning Mentor to support students in Post-16 education settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering an inclusive learning environment, providing personalised guidance, and encouraging students to achieve their full potential. Duties
- Provide one-to-one and group mentoring sessions tailored to individual student needs, promoting confidence and independence.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) by implementing personalised learning programmes in collaboration with teaching staff.
- Assist in developing behaviour management strategies that promote positive conduct and engagement within the classroom.
- Monitor student progress and behaviour, maintaining accurate records and reporting on developments to relevant staff.
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages social inclusion, emotional well-being, and academic achievement.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each learner.
- Organise activities that promote life skills, employability, and personal development for Post-16 students.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and promote the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children or young people, particularly within educational or youth work settings.
- Previous experience in mentoring or supporting learners with special educational needs (SEN).
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and strategies for supporting diverse learning requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with young people, showing empathy and patience.
- Familiarity with behaviour management techniques and safeguarding procedures is desirable.

Pay: £25,550.00-£27,550.00 per year
