Fire Safety Officer
These are some of the typical duties you will be expected to perform. This is not exhaustive, and you may need to complete similar tasks as required.
To plan the delivery of the fire risk assessment programme over its 3-year cycle.
To carry out fire risk assessments, fire safety inspections and DSEAR assessments of Council premises, sites and work operations as required.
To provide advice and guidance regarding fire safety to assist the Council in identifying and mitigating risk, including identifying solutions to complex fire safety issues, requiring a high level of technical knowledge.
To prepare, assessments, CAD fire safety plans and reports.
To carry out investigations of any fire safety related incidents as required.
To keep up to date with developments in fire safety related legislation, technical standards and disciplines/approaches to fire safety management and advise accordingly.
To develop and monitor corporate policy and strategies in relation to the our internal fire safety standards and codes of practice.
To design, deliver and where necessary procure, appropriate fire safety training.
To develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with directorates and relevant external stakeholders as appropriate.
To represent the council at relevant local, regional and national meetings and forums as required.
To promote and implement our Equality policy in all aspects of your employment.
