We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Morden. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive Early Years environment where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of children aged 3–5.
About the Role
As an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with Autism and additional complex needs, working both 1:1 and in small groups to help them develop communication, independence, and social skills.
You will play a key role in delivering personalised learning and play-based activities, supporting each child’s development in line with their EHCP targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children aged 3–5 with Autism and complex learning needs
- Provide 1:1 and small group support in the classroom
- Assist with delivering activities linked to EHCP and learning goals
- Encourage communication, emotional regulation, and independence
- Use sensory strategies and structured teaching methods (e.g. TEACCH)
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Support personal care routines where required

Requirements
- Experience supporting children with Autism or complex SEN
- Experience in an Early Years, SEN school, or nursery setting (preferred)
- Patient, calm, and empathetic approach
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2/3, Early Years, or SEN
- Understanding of the EYFS framework within SEN settings
- Experience with structured communication methods such as PECS or TEACCH
