Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Deli/Restaurant Staff to join our vibrant team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic food service environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Previous experience in a restaurant or deli setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. A positive attitude, good organisational skills, and a passion for food are key attributes for this position.
Duties
- Prepare a variety of food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and presentation are maintained
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously, taking orders accurately and providing excellent customer service
- Assist with food assembly, packaging, and display to optimise sales opportunities through upselling techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food preparation and service areas in accordance with food safety regulations
- Restock supplies as needed, ensuring the workspace remains organised and well-stocked throughout shifts
- Handle cash register operations accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks during busy periods
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are adhered to at all times
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, deli, or catering environment is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and measuring ingredients are essential
- Experience with serving customers, upselling products, and managing time effectively will be advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and culinary practices is a plus but not required
