PLANT MECHANIC / FITTER

The salary scale will be dependent on experience.
The successful applicant will be working Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm. You may also be required to work overtime on an ad-hoc basis.
We are looking for a Plant Mechanic/Fitter who is used to a fast paced, busy workshop. The role will be based at our Midlands Depot working with our team on all kinds of drainage equipment. A knowledge of hydraulics and electrics will be helpful but not essential. We are a large hire company covering equipment for the drainage industry. We also have a large client base where we cover breakdowns and service work. The candidate would benefit from having the following skills and experience:
. Plant based background in mechanics and fitting
. Experience in on the road repairs an advantage but not essential
. Basic knowledge of plant electrical systems
. Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems
. Driving licence essential
. Able to carry out necessary paperwork
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and mechanical systems using hand and power tools.
- Assemble and disassemble equipment, ensuring all parts are functioning correctly.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and conduct necessary repairs.
- Operate forklifts – training provided.
- Follow safety protocols while working and maintain a valid driving license for on-site transportation.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair needs.
