Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, and assembling Material Handling Equipment with precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, mechanical processes, and the use of various hand and power tools. The Fabricator/Fitter will contribute to the production of high-quality products in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements.
- Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques on various metals, including sheet metal, to create durable components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
- Measure materials accurately using basic maths skills to ensure precise fabrication.
- Fit and assemble fabricated parts according to specifications, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to identify defects or inconsistencies.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and optimise workflow efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in fabrication or fitting roles within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proficiency in welding thick and thin material.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal work, assembly processes, and mechanical principles.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
- Experience working with various metals and understanding of welding safety practices is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.

Pay: £15.00-£15.20 per hour
