Gully Truck Operator, Dunchurch, CV22 6NL
We require a motivated gully truck operator based out of our Dunchurch Depot in Warwickshire.
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced operator to operator a gully truck. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety regulations and possess excellent operating skills. You will be responsible for emptying gully waste from various locations efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Operation: Operate a gully truck safely and efficiently, adhering to safety regulations and company policies operating on designated routes to collect and dispose of gully waste from specified locations.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine checks on the gully truck before and after each journey, ensuring that it is in proper working condition. Report any defects or issues promptly to the appropriate department for maintenance.
Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload gully waste at designated disposal sites, following proper procedures to ensure environmental compliance and safety standards.
Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork and documentation as required by company procedures and regulatory agencies.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and members of the public during waste collection activities. Address any inquiries or concerns promptly and courteously.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Stay updated on changes in legislation or regulations related to waste disposal and transportation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Valid CSCS Card (preferable)
Previous experience of operating a gully truck or similar vehicle preferred but full training given.
Excellent operating skills with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Good knowledge of road networks and local routes.
Ability to perform routine plant maintenance checks and minor repairs.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
Physical fitness and ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and manoeuvring heavy equipment.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
