Dual Registered Manager | Children’s Residential Care
Location: Preston
Salary: £65,000 per annum + bonuses
Hours: Full-Time, permanent
Please note: We do not hold licences to support overseas candidates. You must have significant experience within children’s residential care and appropriate management or leadership experience within a residential childcare setting. The successful candidate must hold, or be willing to achieve within the required regulatory timescales, an appropriate Level 5 leadership and management qualification for residential childcare.
We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead two specialist children’s residential homes, providing inspirational, accountable and child centred leadership to the service and staff team. This role is suitable for candidates commuting from Blackburn, Chorley, Leyland, Lytham St Annes, Lancaster, Blackpool, Wigan and parts of Greater Manchester.
The Registered Manager will have overall day-to-day responsibility for the effective management of the homes, ensuring children receive safe, nurturing, kind, aspirational and consistently high-quality care that improves their experiences and outcomes.
You will lead and develop the Deputy Manager, Team Leaders, Residential Support Workers and wider staff team, creating a positive culture where staff feel supported, valued, challenged and accountable.
- Provide inspirational, child-centred leadership and take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring high-quality, individualised care.
- Lead and develop the management and care team, overseeing recruitment, supervision, performance and staff development.
- Ensure strong safeguarding, effective care planning and risk management, with children’s safety, wishes, feelings and outcomes at the heart of practice.
- Oversee admissions, staffing, incidents and complaints, ensuring the home operates safely and effectively.
- Lead on Ofsted inspections, quality monitoring and continuous improvement, while managing resources and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Significant experience in children’s residential care, with experience managing and developing staff teams.
- Level 5 leadership and management qualification in residential childcare, or willingness to achieve this within the required timescales.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager
- Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage challenging situations and drive high standards of care.
