Revenue & Distribution Manager
Working Pattern: Mon-Sun / 45 Hrs per week
Department: Revenue & Central Reservations
About the Role :
We are looking for an approachable, sharp-thinking Revenue & Distribution Manager to lead our Central Reservations plus pricing and channel strategy. If you enjoy turning data into real commercial success, keeping a close eye on market demand, and working closely with operational teams, this role is a brilliant fit.
You will take ownership of running a fast-paced reservations department as well as our daily rates, manage our distribution channels, and ensure our Property Management System (PMS) works seamlessly across all platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Smart Pricing & Yield Management
- Prepare and oversee our daily rate strategy, flexing pricing manually throughout the day as market demand evolves.
- Keep rate management systems fully updated and accurate.
- Plan pricing a full year ahead, ensuring at least 12 months of rolling rates are loaded for OTAs and booking agents.
- Identify upcoming low-demand periods early to launch tailored promotions, special offers, and seasonal rate tweaks.
- Apply sensible rate restrictions when applicable
- Maintain an up-to-date events calendar—including school holidays and local events—so rates reflect true demand, regardless of what the wider market is doing.
2. Market Awareness & Performance Tracking
- Stay tuned to wider market trends, promotional offers, and pricing movements to identify new business opportunities or demand shifts.
- Track daily pick-up, third-party performance scoring, and key metrics, making corrections whenever needed.
- Monitor business PACE against last year’s occupancy and revenue figures.
- Keep a clear focus on weekly, monthly, and annual budgets versus actual revenue.
- Share key performance insights with the leadership team so everyone works towards the same commercial goals.
3. Systems & Distribution
- Ensure rate parity across all platforms by checking that rates in our PMS match OTAs like Booking.com.
- Build and manage room types, rate codes, and description content across OTAs, B2B booking channels, and our PMS.
- Keep our GDS system (HotelREZ) up to date, loading rates and tendering for corporate business.
- Oversee PMS software updates and double-check system connections once completed.
4. Marketing & Direct Revenue
- Create, load, and manage special packages and promotions on our direct website booking engine.
- Partner with voucher companies to fill quieter periods.
- Collaborate with our F&B and Spa teams so promotions drive spend across the entire business, not just bedroom sales.
- Help answer reservation calls, handle booking enquiries, making direct bookings and assist guests directly when needed.
5. Financial Integrity & Daily Audits
- Check that internal rate allocations (such as breakfast or dinner portions) are set correctly.
- Review commission invoices to make sure percentages and charges are accurate.
- Perform routine spot-checks on reservations to ensure correct rate codes, booking terms, and guest notes.
- Keep track of out-of-service rooms and understand the reasons why.
- Review guest refunds with the Finance team, follow up on walkouts or non-payments, and monitor the Aged Debtors report against credit limits.
6.Team Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Empower Front-of-House: Train and upsell front desk and reservations staff so they understand current promotions, rate terms, and booking codes.
- Commercial Awareness: Help team members understand the why behind rate changes and restrictions, building a revenue-conscious culture across the hotel.
- System Best Practice: Guide colleagues on clean data entry in the PMS to ensure accurate reporting and smooth guest check-ins.
What We Are Looking For
- System Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Guestline PMS and ProfitRooms.
- GDS Experience: Practical knowledge of managing HotelREZ or similar GDS networks.
- Commercial Mindset: Solid experience in yield management, pricing strategy, and OTA channel management.
- Attention to Detail: Comfortable managing numbers, spotting system discrepancies, and maintaining strong financial checks.
- Great Communicator: A positive team player who can share ideas clearly with colleagues across all departments.
Work Location: In person
