Part-Time Retreat Housekeeper & Property Assistant
Location: Tranquil Waters Health Retreat, Nottinghamshire
Pay: £16 per hour
Hours: Approximately 6 hours per week, increasing to around 12–14 hours during weeks when retreats are taking place (Most weeks)

We are looking for a reliable, practical and hands-on person to help care for and prepare Tranquil Waters Health Retreat.
This is a varied role combining housekeeping, cleaning, property checks and retreat preparation. The successful person will take responsibility for making sure the retreat is clean, organised, well stocked and ready for guests.
The role will usually involve approximately six hours during quieter weeks. When we have a retreat taking place, hours will normally increase to around 12–14 hours to allow for cleaning, bedroom preparation, equipment checks and resetting the venue after guests leave.
Where there is a same-day turnaround or a particularly large booking, we will bring in additional cleaners to work alongside you. You would remain responsible for helping coordinate the changeover and ensuring the property is ready on time.
Main responsibilities
- Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas
- Stripping beds and preparing used linen for collection
- Making beds and preparing rooms for arriving guests
- Cleaning and resetting the venue after retreats
- Restocking toiletries, refreshments and guest supplies
- Checking that the kitchen and shared spaces are clean and organised
- Carrying out routine checks of the hot tub and float tank
- Monitoring stock levels and letting us know when items need ordering
- Checking the property for damage or maintenance issues
- Letting in contractors or deliveries when required
- Completing final checks before guests arrive
- Occasionally welcoming guests or helping with straightforward requests
- Working alongside additional cleaners during busy or same-day changeovers
- Reporting any problems that require attention
Working hours
The hours will vary depending on the retreat schedule.
A typical quiet week will involve approximately six hours for property checks, equipment care, stock management and general upkeep.
During a retreat week, the hours will usually increase to approximately 12–14 hours. These hours may include preparation before arrival, cleaning after departure and resetting the venue for the next group.
Some work will need to take place around guest arrival and departure times, including occasional weekends. We will provide the retreat schedule in advance wherever possible.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, trustworthy and punctual
- Experienced or confident with professional cleaning and housekeeping
- Comfortable working independently
- Practical and willing to get stuck in
- Organised with excellent attention to detail
- Flexible around retreat dates and changeover times
- Friendly, calm and professional around guests
- Able to spot problems and take sensible action
- Physically able to carry out cleaning, bed-making and general property duties
- Located reasonably close to the retreat
- Able to provide their own reliable transport
Previous experience in housekeeping, holiday lets, hotels, retreats, hospitality or property care would be beneficial. However, reliability, high cleaning standards and a positive attitude are the most important qualities.
