Job Summary
You will support the strategic sourcing and contract management processes for a specific or a range of categories for the business. You will support the deployment of the strategic approach and direction for all related sub category areas and ensure that these are properly contracted. You will support engagement with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and deliver the required contractual conditions.
Duties
- Support the undertaking of strategic sourcing activities in line with business practice ensuring that these are undertaken with due regard to business policy and legal requirements.
- Support stakeholders meetings and communications through arranging meetings, taking minutes and issuing notes.
- Support compliance programmes such as supplier audits and due diligence activities.
- Support the delivery of contractual relationships on behalf of stakeholders that meet business objectives and operational requirements.
- Where appropriate, support the proactive management of the supply base to ensure that appropriate relationships and contractual relationships are in place at all times.
- Undertake supply market research to ensure that the required participants and products/ services are continually in scope.
- Undertake financial analysis to ensure that best value is achieved at all times.
- Support the proactively management of the post-contractual environment to ensure that all terms and conditions are being applied and related benefits secured.
- To manage risks and conflicts to derive benefits for both public and private customers.
- Work with colleagues to achieve all contract compliance and uptake targets.
- Support execution of the category specific workplan.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles within supply chain or logistics environments.
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS for managing procurement workflows.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, logistics processes, and vendor management.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build lasting supplier relationships.
- Ability to analyse data and make informed purchasing decisions based on market conditions and organisational needs.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate across departments and external partners.
Please note that this is a fixed term contract for a minimum of 6 months, with a view to extending to 12 months.
Pay: From £35,000.00 per year
