We are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant with knowledge of working within a general practice environment. Ideally you will have the HCA skills including competency in phlebotomy and working with patients with long term condition such as diabetes, although training will be offered to the right candidate.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the Nurse Lead, providing patient care.
Roles and responsibilities:
- To assist with patient duties as required and support other team members.
- To assist the NP/PN and/or Registered Manager with duties related to CQC outcomes, ensuring compliance is maintained.

- An understanding of confidentiality is required and the ability to use own judgment
- The post holder must be an excellent communicator both spoken and written
- Must be able to relay clinical information clearly
- Should be personable, polite and patient.
- Needs to have an empathy with patients, some of whom may not be so patient or polite due to anxiety
- Needs to be sensitive when dealing with confidential issues
- Must be adaptable and comfortable dealing with changing priorities and be a team player
- Must be aware of the professional boundaries they are working to and highlight any areas of required development
Duties and Responsibilities include:
· ECG recording
· INR reviews (warfarin monitoring)
· Blood Tests
· Urine tests
· Ear irrigation
· Blood Pressure Checks
· Diabetic foot checks
· Pre Diabetes consultations
· 24 hour BP Monitor Fit
· NHS Health Checks
· Dressings (Experience in Compression bandaging desirable)
· Suture Removal
· Assist with coil fits
· Chaperoning duties
Desirable experience:
Administration of the following injections/vaccines
· B12
· Pneumococcal
· Shingles
· Seasonal Flu – injections and intranasal
An Enhanced DBS check will be performed on shortlisted candidates prior to the offer of employment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
