The role
- As a Plumber in our Property Services team, you will carry out a wide range of plumbing repairs, void reinstatement, planned maintenance and installation work across our homes and properties.

You will complete work safely, efficiently and to a high standard, making sure repairs are delivered with care, quality and respect for our customers and their homes.

You will manage materials responsibly, follow agreed stock and stores procedures, and work in line with relevant health and safety requirements, building regulations, codes of practice and risk assessments.

You will communicate clearly with customers, colleagues and stakeholders, keep appointments, respond promptly within agreed timescales and take part in the out of hours operative rota for genuine emergency repairs.
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Recognised trade qualification, such as NVQ, SVQ or City & Guilds in Plumbing.

Experience of carrying out all types of plumbing work for internal and external customers.

Knowledge and understanding of health and safety at work.

Experience of dealing with people in a customer service environment.

Ability to keep accurate records.

Able to work on your own initiative, stay self-motivated and work effectively under pressure.

Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
-
Hard working, with an enthusiastic and flexible approach to the role.

Able to present a positive image of Progress Housing Group and remain polite and courteous at all times.

Aware of your own development needs and committed to working towards them.

Full UK driving licence and willingness to participate in the out of hours duty rota within Property Services.
Desirable
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.

Recognised water authority qualification to work on potable water.

Experience of working for a social housing landlord.
