The Service:
The service supports the children and young people in Lancashire and South Cumbria to grow up with healthy minds, feel confident and resilient and fulfil their potential. As part of the THRIVE ‘Getting Help' model Barnardo's will provide therapeutic one to one, group work and counselling support in the community.
The Service will have a number of bases across the area including:
- Blackburn and Darwen
- Blackpool
- Central Lancashire
- East Lancashire
- North Lancashire
- South Cumbria

The Role:
The Navigation Team Senior Practitioner:
You will be the first point of contact for children, young people and those closest to them, our Navigators will be welcome and guide CYP and their carers through our service on an individual basis.
Successful candidates must:
- Have the skills and experience to work therapeutically with children and young people to support their emotional health and wellbeing.
- Have a caring and approachable manner that supports children and young people to establish safe and trusting relationships
- Have an awareness of emotional challenges and how these impact the lives of children and young people
- Be creative and adaptable in order to best meet young people's needs
- Have excellent administrative and communication skills with experience of caseload management.
- Understand the requirements of their role in safeguarding
This is a busy role which will require a flexible approach and the ability to prioritise tasks, be proactive and solution focused.
Additional Information:
This is a fast-paced environment so you must demonstrate in your application that you currently work or have previously worked in a busy environment. You will need to evidence that you have used the skills outlined above, and in the Job Description/Person Specifications, or have used them previously in employment, education, training, volunteering etc. This should be done with an understanding of the context of the service described.
