Hours: Full-time only (no part-time positions)
Shifts: Waking Night Shifts
Driving Licence: Valid UK driving licence (Essential)
Salary: £15.00–£16.00 per hour
Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks per annum
About the Role
A 37 year-old man living in Sutton Coldfield with a spinal cord injury (tetraplegia) is seeking reliable, motivated, and caring Personal Assistants to join a well-established private care team providing 24-hour support, seven days a week.
The client has limited use of his upper limbs, uses a powered wheelchair for mobility, and is verbally independent, directing his own care.
Personal Assistants will work as part of a two-person night team, offering support with personal care, health routines, and daily living tasks.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, health, and rehabilitation routines
- Support mobility, social activities, and outings (e.g. visiting friends and family)
- Help with domestic and household tasks
- Drive an adapted vehicle when required (valid UK driving licence essential)
- Promote independence, dignity, and privacy at all times
Training & Support
All new team members will receive:
- A full induction and training specific to the client’s daily care needs
- Mandatory training (manual handling, emergency first aid, etc.)
- Regular supervision and professional development sessions
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- A safe and confident driver with a valid UK licence
- Physically capable of performing care and mobility-related tasks
- Trustworthy, reliable, and professional
- Friendly, patient, and proactive, with a positive attitude toward teamwork
Experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries is an advantage, but not essential — full training will be provided.
This position is subject to:
- A second, activity-based interview
- Two excellent references
- A successful enhanced DBS disclosure
