RolePurpose & Key Responsibilities:
‒ TechnicalLeadership: Provide technicalleadership and expertise on all aspects of M&E design, engineering, andcommissioning for data centre projects.
‒ DesignReview & Approval: Reviewand approve M&E designs, specifications, and drawings, ensuring compliancewith industry standards, client requirements, and best practices.
‒ TechnicalDue Diligence : Conducttechnical due diligence assessments of potential data centre sites, evaluatingM&E infrastructure, power availability, and cooling solutions.
‒ ProjectManagement: Oversee theM&E aspects of data centre projects, including managing budgets, schedules,and resources.
‒ Commissioning& Testing: Lead and managethe commissioning and testing of M&E systems, ensuring proper functionalityand performance.
‒ VendorManagement: Managerelationships with M&E vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuringquality workmanship and timely delivery.
‒ RiskManagement : Identify, assess,and mitigate technical risks associated with M&E systems.
‒ Innovation& Technology: Stay abreastof the latest M&E technologies and trends in the data centre industry,recommending and implementing innovative solutions.
‒ EnergyEfficiency & Sustainability : Promote energy-efficient and sustainable design practices in data centreprojects.
‒ ClientManagement : Provide technicalexpertise and support to clients, building and maintaining strongrelationships.
‒ Reporting& Communication: Prepareand present technical reports, presentations, and other communications toclients and stakeholders.
‒ TeamLeadership: Mentor and guidejunior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive workenvironment.
‒ BusinessDevelopment: Contribute tobusiness development efforts, including identifying new opportunities,preparing proposals, and networking within the data centre industry.
PersonSpecification:
‒ Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering,Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
‒ ProfessionalRegistration: CharteredEngineer (CEng) status or equivalent preferred.
‒ Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in M&Eengineering, with a specific focus on data centre projects.
‒ TechnicalKnowledge: In-depth knowledgeof M&E systems, including power distribution, cooling systems, fireprotection, and building management systems.
‒ Design& Engineering Skills : Strong design and engineering skills, with the ability to review and approveM&E designs and specifications.
‒ ProjectManagement Skills : Provenproject management skills, including the ability to manage budgets, schedules,and resources.
‒ CommissioningExperience: Experience incommissioning and testing M&E systems.
‒ VendorManagement Skills: Experiencein managing relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
‒ CommunicationSkills: Excellent written andverbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate withclients, stakeholders, and team members.
‒ LeadershipSkills: Proven ability to leadand manage teams, motivate individuals, and foster a collaborative workenvironment.
