Together Women provides trauma-informed, gender-responsive support to women across the North of England through a series of Women’s Centres. We offer tailored support with housing, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, addiction recovery, finances, employment and work to reduce women’s contact with the Criminal Justice System.
About NEST
In recognition of the distinct challenges facing young women and girls (YWG), Together Women has developed specialist provision for young women and girls in the Nest programme, in partnership with other specialist organisations. Together Women’s Nest provides a dedicated service for young women and girls (aged 14 to 25) at risk of domestic abuse, school exclusion, exploitation, gang involvement and contact with the criminal justice system.
The Nest Service is designed to enable young women and girls to escape harm and to thrive in their lives and aspirations, by supporting them to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience, manage their health and wellbeing and access and engage with other support services. In addition to dedicated advocacy support, they will be able to access mentoring from Volunteer Peer Mentors with lived experience and a programme of prevention and awareness-raising groups and workshops run out of Together Women’s Women Centres.

Key Accountabilities
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Working with the Nest team and Peer Mentors to help maintain a supportive, caring environment
- Help maintain records, data entry, and support with paperwork for services provided at the centre
- Work with the data team to support with recording and monitoring
- Help with scheduling appointments and sending reminders to ensure smooth service delivery
- Assist in the organisation of events, and social groups by preparing rooms, and ensuring resources are in place
- Help with ensuring workspaces and meeting rooms remain organised
- Various administrative tasks as needed, including answering the phone, filing, printing, photocopying, and responding to emails.
General Information
- Performance and Quality: Ensure all work undertaken is aligned to the service/division’s annual plan and that all policies, processes and guidance notes are up to date and in line with best practice/current legislation.
- Policies and procedure: Ensure the effective implementation of Together Women’s Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and other policies and procedures and uphold the core values of Together Women.

- An understanding of the challenges facing young women and girls, including the impacts of gang involvement, exploitation, mental health, domestic abuse and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.
- Ability to create a welcoming environment where young women and girls feel safe and empowered.

Desirable Experience
- Experience of working with young women experiencing issues related to violence against women and girls and/or the criminal justice system and experience of community engagement, advocacy and support work with young people.
- Experience of contribution to required monitoring and reporting
- Experience of demonstrating strong administrative skills
- Experience of risk management and needs assessment, particularly with young women and girls with complex/multiple needs
- Strong crisis management skills and an ability to cope in stressful situations.
- Experience of setting and maintaining professional boundaries with service users whilst delivering an excellent standard of service, including how to respond appropriately to challenging behaviour, de-escalate tension, and enable women and girls to manage strong feelings in a safe manner.
- Experience of liaising with external agencies
- Experience of working with youth support agencies or in a youth setting
