Fabrication Quality Inspector
As a Fabrication Quality Inspector, you will play a key role within the Quality Department, checking and monitoring in-house fabrications and sub-assemblies throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with documented specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role involves inspecting work primarily within the fabrication shop, with occasional inspections in other departments across the company.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in fabrication inspection, preferably within , manufacturing & Oil & Gas environment.
You will be able to read and interpret technical fabrication drawings and specifications and have experience using measuring and inspection equipment to verify dimensional accuracy against tight tolerances. A strong understanding of product traceability, quality requirements, and manufacturing processes is essential.
Good IT skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, to produce clear and concise inspection reports, accurately recording results and highlighting any actual or potential non-conformances.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of fabrications and sub-assemblies throughout manufacture.
- Verify products comply with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Maintain product traceability and inspection records.
- Produce inspection reports and raise non-conformance reports where required.
- Work closely with Department Supervisors, Project Engineers, and the Quality team to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Encourage positive and open discussions around quality issues, safety, and process improvements.
- Make recommendations to improve manufacturing processes and inspection methods where opportunities are identified.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience within a fabrication inspection or quality inspection role.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication and engineering drawings.
- Experience using measuring and inspection equipment to verify compliance against specified tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, methodical, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible, responsive to change, and calm under pressure.

The above position offers a 38 hour salaried week (early finish on a Friday), 23 days annual holiday allowance, excluding Bank Holidays + birthday leave + Christmas Eve, Wellbeing Day, a contributory pension scheme, life insurance and occupational health screening.
