Overview
Dtq Designs Ltd is looking for an experienced Cabinet Maker / Joiner to join our busy workshop team in Guildford. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship and can produce bespoke joinery and fitted furniture to an exceptional standard.
The successful candidate will be confident working from start to finish on a range of custom projects, using traditional workshop machinery and techniques to manufacture precise, high-quality pieces.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture bespoke furniture and architectural joinery to a high standard
- Produce items from start to finish, including machining, assembly, and finishing preparation
- Read and work from drawings, cutting lists, and job specifications
- Use a wide range of traditional woodworking and joinery machinery safely and effectively
- Maintain excellent attention to detail across all stages of production
- Ensure work is completed on time and to required quality standards
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver custom projects for clients
Typical Projects
You may be involved in the manufacture of:
- Built-in wardrobes and storage
- Bespoke cabinets and furniture
- Architectural joinery
- Custom interior fitted furniture
- One-off specialist joinery items
Requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience in cabinet making, bench joinery, or bespoke joinery manufacture
- Strong experience producing bespoke joinery products from start to finish
- Confidence using a broad range of traditional workshop machinery
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow specifications accurately
- High level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work well as part of a busy team
- Good understanding of workshop health and safety practices
Desirable
- Experience in fitted furniture or high-end bespoke interiors
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- A proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills
