Job Purpose:
The Aviation Security and Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that we maintain effective aviation security and compliance controls across relevant transport, warehouse and yard operations. The role monitors regulatory requirements, internal procedures and customer obligations, supports audit readiness, and ensures that security risks, non-compliance issues and corrective actions are identified, recorded and followed through with staff and management.
Job Duties:
The role requires awareness of applicable UK aviation security requirements, including Civil Aviation Authority expectations for regulated air cargo operations, secure cargo handling, access controls, staff training, background checks and records that demonstrate compliance.
- plan, complete and report internal aviation security compliance checks, audits and operational reviews, including follow-up of non-conformities, corrective actions and preventative actions
- perform risk assessments to understand risk level, significance and scope
- keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws and regulations
- monitor compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies
- manage voluntary best practice relating to professional standards
- ensure that your findings are recorded and followed up with management so that issues can be rectified
- maintain oversight of aviation security training records, refresher requirements and staff awareness so that employees with access to air cargo, secure areas or relevant documentation remain appropriately trained
- educate employees on not only the regulations, but also the impact on the organisation if these aren't complied with
- investigate irregularities and non-compliance issues
- report back to business functions on current risk and compliance performance
- highlight or escalate areas of concern
- contribute to robust and effective compliance controls within the organisation
- review operational documents, aviation security procedures, training records and compliance evidence to ensure they meet applicable regulatory, customer and internal requirements
- support CAA, customer and external audit activity by preparing records, responding to findings and ensuring agreed actions are completed within required timescales
- assist in the gathering of internal information in response to regulatory requests
- perform various general administrative duties (such as file creation and maintenance of ongoing administrative projects)
- collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance.

· This role is mostly based inside but you may be required to check Civil Aviation Compliance in the warehouse and yard.
· As a small company you may be expected to help in other compliance areas linked to this role, such as Health and Safety and Transport Compliance.

Pay: £39,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
