Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and other material structures on-site and in workshops. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a broad range of carpentry and joinery skills within a dynamic environment, contributing to diverse construction projects including roofing, masonry, plumbing, and electrical installations. The ideal applicant will have experience working with hand tools and power tools, with a strong focus on precision and safety.
Duties
- Fabricate bespoke joinery components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Assemble structures using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Install wooden frameworks, roofing structures, and other fixtures on-site
- Carry out carpentry tasks including cutting, shaping, and fitting timber or other materials
- Perform heavy lifting of materials safely to ensure efficient workflow
- Assist with construction painting, masonry work, plumbing, electrical tasks, and roofing as required
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building regulations
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace at all times
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as masons, electricians, plumbers, and roofers to complete projects efficiently
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and carpentry techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers
- Competence in operating power tools including drills, saws, and sanders
- Knowledge of joinery principles and techniques for various materials
- Experience in roofing installation or repair is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with construction painting, masonry work, plumbing systems, electrical wiring is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
