We are looking to extend our service and an opportunity has become available for 1 FTE equivalent Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) to join our team. We have 1 Full time post in the Spinal MSK service.
The role involves assessing and treating patients with spinal conditions and you will work with other APP’s in managing both First Contact Primary Care and Specialist Secondary Care services. The APP team, established in 1991, are supported by an MDT including General Practitioners, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons, Consultants in Sport and Exercise Medicine, Orthopaedic Physicians and a Pain Management Service.
To act as the clinical lead in Spinal Musculoskeletal assessment and treatment for Physiotherapy Services, and to work with, promote and actively develop the service in conjunction with the Multidisciplinary Team and Head of Therapy Services.
Provide autonomous advanced assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with spinal pain working in an Advanced Practice role with the authority to order further investigations such as blood tests and x-rays.
Act as a source of expertise on the management of spinal pathology to Primary Health Care professionals, Consultants, Senior Physiotherapists, and other Health Care Professionals.
Act as a clinical lead in co-ordinating, delivering, and evaluating the Musculoskeletal Service together with the Head of Therapy Services and multidisciplinary team in line with the Trust Business Plan and the needs of service users.
