Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Carpet Fitter to join our construction and interior finishing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing high-quality carpets and flooring materials across various residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently with hand tools and power tools. Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare surfaces accurately to ensure proper carpet fitting and alignment
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to execute installations precisely
- Use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry techniques to cut, trim, and secure carpets effectively
- Prepare subfloors by performing construction painting or surface leveling as needed before installation
- Install carpets using appropriate adhesives, tack strips, or other fastening methods
- Ensure all installations meet quality standards, safety regulations, and client specifications
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to coordinate installation schedules
- Maintain a clean work environment by managing waste materials and tools efficiently
- Conduct routine inspections of completed work to identify areas for improvement or correction
Skills
- Proven experience in construction or flooring installation, with a focus on carpet fitting
- Proficiency with hand tools such as knives, scissors, staplers, and measuring tapes
- Knowledge of carpentry principles relevant to flooring preparation and subfloor adjustments
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with construction painting techniques for surface preparation or finishing touches
- Familiarity with power tools including drills, saws, and pneumatic equipment
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills for collaborating effectively with team members and clients

Pay: £25,420.00-£53,818.25 per year
