Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior <PERSON> to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food production, kitchen operations, and team management. The Junior <PERSON> will support senior chefs in preparing high-quality dishes, supervising junior staff, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of junior kitchen staff and trainees
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food handling and preparation
- Support the organisation of kitchen operations to maintain efficiency during busy service periods
- Oversee food presentation to ensure it meets quality standards before serving
- Manage stock levels, assist with inventory control, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Contribute to menu development ideas and assist in testing new recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Support senior chefs in training new team members and fostering a positive team atmosphere
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, or kitchen roles within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Demonstrable leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and kitchen equipment operation
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively during peak hours
- Good communication skills to collaborate efficiently with team members and management
- A passion for culinary arts, hospitality, and delivering exceptional customer service
