We are seeking a talented and passionate Afro hair professional braider to join our dynamic beauty team. The ideal candidate will specialise in creating stunning braided hairstyles, providing exceptional customer service, and contributing to a welcoming salon environment. Duties
- Expertly braid and style Afro hair using various techniques tailored to client preferences
- Provide personalised consultations to understand client needs and recommend suitable styles
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all styling areas
- Assist clients with hair care advice and aftercare instructions
- Manage appointment scheduling efficiently, ensuring timely service delivery
- Upsell additional services such as eyelash extensions, makeup application, or hair treatments where appropriate
- Support store management with front desk duties, including greeting clients and handling enquiries
- Mentor junior staff or apprentices, sharing expertise to foster skill development
- Ensure a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business and client satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in Afro hair braiding and styling techniques (2+ years of experience required)
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients
- Knowledge of store management practices and front desk operations
- Ability to mentor junior team members and support team cohesion
- Competence in offering additional beauty services such as eyelash extensions and makeup application is advantageous
- Excellent upselling skills to promote complementary products or services
- Outstanding communication skills to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike
- Organised approach to managing appointments, inventory, and salon environment
