Rate of Pay; £26 per hour
Contract Type; Fixed-term contract from 01/09/2026 to 19/12/2026, with view for this to be extended.
Shift Pattern Available; Minimum 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8.45am and 12pm, with opportunities for additional regular hours.

About the role
We are looking for a calm, creative and adaptable Teacher to join our Brinkburn Alternative Provision on a fixed-term contract. You will provide consistent, personalised teaching for children and young people who need an approach that is different from a traditional classroom.
About our Alternative Provision
KEYFORT provides highly personalised education for children and young people who are not able to access learning through a traditional mainstream classroom. Teaching is planned around each student’s EHCP outcomes, strengths, interests, communication, sensory and emotional needs, with a strong focus on engagement, independence, life skills and meaningful progress.
The Teacher role
This is a hands-on teaching role, usually working one-to-one or with a very small number of students alongside Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants. You will have the freedom to adapt lessons, use practical and interest-led activities and take the time to build trusting relationships.
We are looking for someone who understands that progress will look different for each young person. You will be patient and reflective, remain calm around behaviours of concern and be willing to change your approach when something is not working. You should be confident providing direction to support staff and working closely with families, care teams and other professionals.
Essential Criteria
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
· Experience planning and delivering personalised learning for children or young people with SEND or complex needs.
· Confidence supporting young people who may display behaviours of concern and following agreed support strategies consistently.
· Ability to build positive relationships and adapt teaching around individual learning, communication, sensory and emotional needs.
· A strong understanding of safeguarding, with good communication, teamwork and record-keeping skills.
Desirable Criteria
· Experience working within alternative provision, home tutoring or another non-traditional education setting.
· Experience working with EHCP outcomes, individual learning plans or alternative communication approaches.
· An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service and access to a vehicle.
Role Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver engaging, personalised learning linked to each student’s EHCP outcomes, individual needs and educational targets.
· Adapt resources and teaching approaches around students’ learning, communication, sensory and emotional needs.
· Use practical, visual and interest-led activities to make education meaningful and accessible.
· Support students to develop confidence, independence, communication, emotional regulation and positive engagement with learning.
· Work closely with Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants, providing clear guidance and promoting consistent approaches.
· Monitor progress, gather evidence of learning and maintain accurate educational records.
· Work collaboratively with families, care teams and external professionals, contributing to reviews where required.
· Maintain a safe and organised learning environment and safeguard each student at all times.
