Job Title: Junior Social Video Creator (Road Cycling Focus)

About the Role:
Play Sports Network is looking for an entry-level Junior Social Video Creator to produce high-quality short-form video content across our digital and social media channels.
In this role, you will be responsible for adapting and creating engaging, informative, and accessible vertical video content (such as Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts) centered around the world of road cycling. Reporting directly to our Creative Manager, you will work within a supportive, collaborative team environment. We provide structured training from day one, giving you the tools to develop your technical production skills while taking on real responsibility for content watched by a global audience. You’ll be in a team of social video creators so you’ll have like-minded colleagues to collaborate with.
This is a full-time Monday-to-Friday role based out of our central Bath offices, offering an excellent foundational step for anyone looking to build a professional career in digital media and sports production.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
Edit Social-First Content: Cut, pace, and assemble high-quality vertical videos aligned with our weekly channel delivery schedules.
Reversion Video Assets: Review our long-form YouTube library to identify key highlights, informative segments, and engaging moments, repackaging them effectively for short-form platforms.
Contribute Creative Ideas: Participate in regular team meetings and brainstorms, sharing insights on emerging video formats, pacing styles, or platform updates that could enhance our output.
Understand Platform Optimization: Work closely with our Audience Development team to learn publishing best practices, including video tagging, thumbnail selection, and cross-platform formatting.
Support the Wider Team: Remain responsive to short-notice editing requests to assist with major race coverage, industry news, or commercial partner priorities.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required:
Skills & Attributes:
An Interest in Cycling & Sport: A genuine willingness to learn about road cycling, its athletes, and its community. Detailed knowledge of the sport is an advantage, but a curiosity to learn the landscape is essential.
Structural Editing Skills: The ability to edit high-volume video assets efficiently while maintaining an eye for narrative structure, pacing, and editorial detail.
Platform Awareness: A clear understanding of the functional layouts and formatting styles unique to modern short-form video platforms.
A Collaborative Mindset: A motivated team player who communicates clearly, works well with feedback, and is keen to learn from experienced colleagues.
Technical Knowledge & Experience:
Software Foundation: Practical experience using Adobe Premiere Pro (or a clear familiarity with similar editing software like DaVinci Resolve or CapCut, with a readiness to transition to Premiere Pro).
Sample Work/Portfolio: A link to a portfolio, project drive, or social channel demonstrating short-form video content you have edited or produced.
Additional Assets: Basic familiarity with other Adobe Creative Suite tools (such as Photoshop) is beneficial. The ability to understand or speak French, German, Spanish, or Italian would be a distinct advantage.
