Join ROP Banhmi, a vibrant Vietnamese street-food restaurant bringing fresh flavours, bold ingredients and warm hospitality to London.
As a Server / Waiter, you will be at the heart of the guest experience, delivering friendly, attentive and efficient service in a fast-paced environment. You will help guests discover our menu, from bánh mì and noodle dishes to rice bowls, Vietnamese-inspired sides and drinks, while ensuring every visit feels welcoming, relaxed and memorable.
We are looking for someone with positive energy, strong communication skills and a genuine interest in food, hospitality and Vietnamese cuisine.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system
- Build good knowledge of the ROP menu and confidently explain dishes, ingredients and flavours to guests
- Communicate allergy and dietary requirements clearly and follow ROP allergen procedures at all times
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining strong presentation and service standards
- Check in with guests throughout their meal and respond quickly to any questions or concerns
- Recommend dishes, sides and drinks to enhance the guest experience and support sales
- Maintain clean, organised tables, service stations and dining areas throughout the shift
- Support opening and closing duties, including setting up the restaurant and preparing for service
- Assist with clearing, resetting and maintaining an efficient table turnaround during busy periods
- Handle payments accurately and follow all cash-handling and POS procedures
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication and efficient service
- Follow food safety, hygiene, health and safety and cleaning procedures
- Support the wider team wherever needed to keep service running smoothly
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, café or hospitality environment is preferred
- Strong guest service skills with a friendly and approachable personality
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with both FOH and BOH teams
- Ability to stay organised and manage several tables during busy service periods
- Good attention to detail when taking orders, handling allergies and processing payments
- Confidence recommending and upselling food and drinks in a natural, guest-focused way
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Experience using a POS system is desirable
- An interest in Vietnamese cuisine, Asian food or street-food concepts is highly desirable
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable working evenings and weekends
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
