Within your role, you will form a crucial part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, delivering a high standard of health care to patients.

As health care professionals we have the privilege of looking after those who can’t always look after themselves - for some it’s a short stay as they recover from the acute phase of their illness and for others it's providing care when they need it most and giving them dignity at the end of their lives.
As a Healthcare Support Worker, you play a vital role in our patients care, and within the Medicine care group we cover a variety of specialities. These range from acute admission areas to wards such as cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology and elderly wards which include acute stroke and stroke rehab.
As a healthcare support worker at Scarborough Hospital, you will be part of a multi-professional team providing high standards of care to our patients. You will maintain and promote patient independence and dignity to ensure each patient receives a positive experience. Your responsibilities may include:
Assisting patients with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting).
Supporting mobility and helping prevent falls.
Assisting with eating and drinking and monitoring nutritional intake.
Providing emotional support to patients and families.
Working closely with nurses, doctors, therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Promoting patients' independence and dignity wherever possible.
Supporting patients who may have conditions such as dementia, delirium, multiple long-term health conditions, or end-of-life care needs.
As a healthcare support worker, you will be expected to work a combination of shifts, including nights, weekends and bank holidays:
Please be aware that you must be able to attend full-time. induction programme for the first 4 weeks in your new role. This must be within 3 months of your interview date.
