Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations across Cheshire and staffordshire, ensuring timely deliveries and pick ups and set up of equipment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and a commitment to excellent customer service. The position involves operating MWB/LWB Vans and requires a valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving. Van, insurance and fuel are all provided. Prior delivery driver experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate vehicles to deliver goods to clients and customers
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring the integrity of the goods during transit
- Obtain signatures or proof of delivery from recipients, maintaining accurate records of deliveries made
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanour when interacting with clients and customers
- Comply with all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during all operations
Qualifications
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving (e.g., Category C or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a delivery driver is advantageous, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar equipment
- Strong knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations within the area of operation
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Good communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a flexible attitude.
- Physical fitness to load, unload, and carry goods as required
