Elma Electronic is a global designer and manufacturer of products for housing electronic systems. The company provides everything from components such as modular enclosures, cabinets, and backplanes up to complete standard or custom system platforms and the latest in Embedded Computing Products including Embedded “Application Ready” systems, SFF, SBCs, Ethernet Switches, Storage Modules, and Intelligent System Monitoring.
Founded in 1960, the Elma Group has production facilities and sales offices worldwide serving the mil/aero, industrial, research, telecom, medical, and commercial markets. The company offers a fast, flexible response to customer needs and an extensive practical knowledge in tailoring solutions to specific applications.
Due to expansion plans and continued growth, Elma is now looking for a highly skilled wire-person to join our production team. The ideal candidate will bring experience and knowledge of building, assembling, fitting, and wiring of complex box builds, control panels and cabinets ensuring all product builds meet customer requirements and ELMA quality standards.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
- To build wiring looms, cable assemblies and connectors from design drawings and kits to the agreed build standards and timeframes.
- Assembling complex, high value electronic products in small/medium volumes.
- Working from a range of schematics, models, manufacturing drawings, wiring schedules, wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams, sketches.
- Competent reading complex engineering drawings, diagrams and BOM`S.
- Produce neat and intricate wiring.
- Using tools and instruments of the wiring trade such as Daniels Tools, Connectors and Crimping Tools.
- Maintain production build documentation and complete forms as required
Skills Required for role:
- Methodical and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to focus and work with accuracy
- Self-reliant - working with minimal supervision
- Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills
- Must have experience of Assembling, Wiring, Box Build and Soldering within a high-end production environment.
- Previous experience of working to IPC standard 620 – certification is not essential but any experience greatly beneficial as inhouse training is provided.
