KITCHEN ASSISTANT / JUNIOR CHEF
Experienced & Ready to Step Up
Pay: £12.71–£14.95 per hour, depending on experience
BUNTY'S THE VILLAGE KITCHEN is looking for an experienced Kitchen Assistant / Junior Chef who is ready to take the next step. This is more than a basic kitchen assistant position. We’re looking for someone who already has good kitchen experience and is ready to take on more responsibility, develop their skills and help drive the kitchen forward. You’ll work closely with the chef and management team, with the opportunity to gradually take greater responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
- Working alongside the chef with preparation and cooking
- Taking responsibility for sections of service during busy periods
- Helping maintain consistent food quality and presentation
- Ensuring dishes are prepared efficiently and to specification
- Supporting kitchen organisation and cleanliness
- Helping with stock control, deliveries and stock rotation
- Following food hygiene and safety procedures
- Helping train and support less experienced kitchen team members
- Keeping prep organised and ensuring the kitchen is ready for service
- Taking greater responsibility as your experience and confidence develops

- Has previous professional kitchen experience
- Is confident with food preparation and cooking
- Can work efficiently under pressure
- Takes pride in food quality and presentation
- Is organised and understands the importance of preparation
- Can work independently but also as part of a team
- Has ambition and wants to progress
- Is reliable, hardworking and willing to take responsibility
