Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Cafe Manager/Head Cook to lead our vibrant cafe team with passion and expertise. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain high standards of food quality and safety. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver memorable experiences while fostering a welcoming environment that encourages teamwork and growth.
The cafe is situated above our busy DIY retail store serving the local community with a wide range of tools materials and accessories for professional tradespeople, homeowners and DIY enthusiasts.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all cafe operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food production processes to maintain quality standards.
- Manage a team of baristas, kitchen staff, and service personnel, providing coaching and development opportunities
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and uphold hygiene standards across all areas
- Coordinate with suppliers for inventory management and ensure timely stock replenishment
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing guest needs promptly and professionally
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting environment that aligns with brand standards
- Implement operational procedures to optimize efficiency and reduce waste
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting, preferably in cafes or similar establishments.
- Strong background in food preparation and cooking in a fast paced environment.
- Experience in team management, leadership, and staff development.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
- Familiarity with hospitality operations including serving, barista skills, and general restaurant experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Terms
- 40 hours per week on a rota basis to include weekend work.
- Pay range £15-16 per hour – depending on experience
