About the Role:
Due to increased growth and exciting expansion plans in our New Bothwell Site, Lynas is seeking a proactive and commercially focused Distribution Manager who thrives in a dynamic logistics environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transport performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, supporting resource planning and contributing to operational excellence across the Distribution function. The role requires strong leadership, analytical capability and the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders.
The successful candidate will report directly to our Bothwell Site lead and work closely with the current Distribution Manager.
What You’ll be doing
Distribution Operations
· Implement distribution plans to meet customer service requirements.
· Monitor driver performance and operational efficiencies.
· Manage tachograph analysis and compliance requirements.
· Oversee vehicle temperature management and transport compliance.
· Conduct driver debriefs and address operational issues.
· Work closely with the transport team on driver and vehicle availability.
· Support routing activities and resource planning as required.
· Ensure vehicle maintenance schedules are adhered to.
· Monitor fuel efficiency and operational performance metrics.
· Support planned and unplanned expense control measures.
Customer Service & Stakeholder Management
· Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
· Respond to general customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
· Work collaboratively with Distribution Managers across ROI, NI and Scotland.
· Resolve distribution issues and customer service challenges effectively.
· Ensure customer service standards are maintained throughout distribution operations.
Compliance, Administration & Continuous Improvement
· Maintain compliance with transport, food safety and health & safety requirements.
· Assist with quality control of HR and training documentation.
· Manage purchase orders within the Distribution Department.
· Ensure outstanding depot and supplier documentation is received and resolved.
· Monitor and report against key distribution performance indicators.
· Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational performance and efficiency.
· Effectively manage ER processes
What we’re looking for
· Strong logistics and transport management experience.
· Strong business acumen with commercial awareness.
· Robust analytical and problem-solving capability.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, routing software and Power BI.
· Class 1 or Class 2 Licence (or equivalent).
· Understanding of transport compliance and legislative requirements.
· Experience in resource planning and operational management.
· Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) desirable.
· Relevant logistics qualification or equivalent experience desirable.
You'll work closely with key stakeholders across the business, gain exposure to a wide variety of roles and play an important part in supporting Lynas' continued growth and success.
