The Role – Nurse / Staff Nurse
As a Staff Nurse, you will support residents live as independently and comfortably as possible in a warm, supportive environment. This is an ideal opportunity if you are looking for Nursing jobs, Staff Nurse roles or your first job in Nursing in Scotland.
You’ll,
· Assess, plan, deliver and review person‑centred nursing care for residents with varied and complex needs.
· Promote dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing in all aspects of care home nursing.
· Lead, support and mentor the care team, providing clear clinical direction and supervision.
· Safely manage medicines: receipt, storage, administration and documentation in line with NMC standards, legislation and company policy.
· Use digital systems to maintain accurate, up‑to‑date care plans, risk assessments and clinical records.
· Monitor residents’ physical, social and psychological health, responding promptly to any changes.
· Support a positive resident experience across care, activities, social interaction and mealtimes.
· Build professional relationships with families, GPs, wider MDT and regulators, enhancing the home’s reputation.
· Contribute to audits, incident reviews and clinical governance to continually improve care home nursing practice.
· Participate confidently in inspections and ensure the staff nursing team is prepared to do the same.
You will work closely with the Home Manager and senior team to ensure shifts run smoothly and that high standards of staff nursing are maintained at all times.
About You
You’ll,
· Be an NMC‑registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) with a valid PIN.
· Have right to work in the UK (or eligibility for sponsorship in line with current rules).
· Have strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills.
· Be confident leading a team in a busy care home nursing environment.
· Be able to work under pressure, prioritise and organise workload effectively.
· Have good IT skills and comfortable using digital nursing and medication systems.
· Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive professional relationships.
· Be respectful, compassionate and fully committed to person‑centred nursing care and confidentiality.
We’d especially like to hear from you if,
· You have experience as a Staff Nurse or Care Home Nurse within elderly care or adult social care.
· You have previous people management, supervision or mentoring experience.
· You have experience of involvement in quality improvement, audits or clinical governance programmes.
You will be expected to maintain your CPD, reflect on your practice and meet NMC revalidation requirements.
