We are currently recruiting for Class 2 Drivers who are seeking Long Haul “Tramping” (approximately to 2 to 3 nights out per week). Drivers must possess a current CPC qualification.
Based in Burscough, West Lancashire, Northern Freight Services is a growing independent freight and logistics company specialising in hazardous and non-hazardous chemical distribution, warehousing, storage solutions, and specialist logistics services throughout the UK.

JOB PURPOSE
To safely and professionally operate company vehicles while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed efficiently and compliantly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate Class 2 vehicles safely and professionally
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
- Ensure deliveries and collections are completed on time
- Handle hazardous and non-hazardous goods in accordance with regulations
- Complete all relevant paperwork and digital records accurately
- Maintain high standards of customer service when interacting with clients
- Comply with all driver hours, tachograph, and transport legislation
- Assist with loading and unloading where required
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of company vehicles
- Work flexibly to support operational requirements, including tramping where applicable
PAY & BENEFITS
Base Pay:
Class 2 Drivers: £15 per hour (first 40 hours)
Overtime: £18 per hour

WORKING HOURS
Various shift patterns depending on operational requirements.
Minimum 40 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
- Valid CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of driver hours and transport legislation
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- ADR qualification
- Previous experience within chemical or hazardous goods distribution
- Experience with tramping work
- Forklift or warehouse experience
