The Hospital Engineer at One Hatfield Hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of hospital facilities and equipment. This temporary position is essential for supporting the healthcare environment in Hatfield, contributing to the overall safety and functionality of medical services. The engineer will work on an as and when required casual basis, providing flexibility while ensuring that all engineering systems meet regulatory standards and operational needs.
Responsibilities:

Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of hospital infrastructure and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Experience in building maintenance, general maintenance and DIY, and previous experience in building service management preferred.
- Respond promptly to engineering issues and emergencies, providing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar engineering role, with a preference for experience within a healthcare setting.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards within the hospital environment.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar engineering role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of hospital-specific systems such as HVAC, medical gas systems, and backup power generation.
- Relevant technical qualifications in engineering or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with medical and administrative staff.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to hospital environments.
