Summary
This role is primarily responsible for assisting the Licensed Aircraft Engineers with the performance of aircraft maintenance, repair and modification tasks under supervision at the WASL Teesside facility.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures and COSHH requirements
- Actively support and promote a positive safety learning culture through the reporting of occurrences and potential hazards and by adopting continuous improvement and human factors principles with their work
- Perform assigned aircraft maintenance, repair, and modification tasks
- Mentoring of junior mechanics, sharing your expertise and best practices
- Monitor team members performance and assist supervisor in feedback sessions
- Comply with procedures detailed within the Maintenance Organisation Expositions and any associated documentation
- Assist Check Manager in controlling the clocking of the team
- When not assigned to aircraft work, fully utilise available time productively to support the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility as well as other departments in need of help
- Extensive knowledge of the work pack requirements, check progress and critical paths
- Assist with work allocation and help drive the maintenance checks along to meet TAT
- Update, read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, task cards, engineering drawings and other specific technical documentation
- Assist with paperwork completion as required
- Assist with raising defects as required
- Investigate & ordering of spares required
- Perform any additional duties or tasks as directed by your supervisor
Qualifications / Requirements
- Aeronautical apprenticeship or recognized national qualification in aircraft maintenance
- Minimum of 6 years aircraft maintenance experience
- Be able to demonstrate an organised approach to daily job tasks
- Can demonstrate a high level of skill across multiple disciplines, such as mechanical, structural, and power plant tasks
- Knowledge of maintenance standards
- Knowledge and ability to use aircraft maintenance data
- Initial Human Factors (HF) training
- Fuel Tank Safety (FTS) training
- Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) training
- English Language proficiency (Written & Spoken)
- Attention to detail with work order and task cards
- Ability to prioritise and manage high workloads
- Adaptable employee willing to adjust working hours to meet operational demands
- Act as a supportive team member, assisting colleagues as needed
